The History…

The committee, at one of their regular committee meetings, decided it was time to start a Panorama race. The intention of the race was always to give something back to the running community and to encourage new runners. But how do you organise a race? Ask an expert! The then chairperson of the club volunteered to be on the Rand Athletic Club (RAC) Tough One race committee. Vreni and Dick Welch, seasoned RAC members and race organisers, kindly provided the guidance for Panorama Running Club to host their first 10 km road race in 2001.

The race started and ended at the Panorama Football club, with a turnout of approximately 600 athletes. The race grew and grew, and larger venues were needed. The Panorama race has previously been held from Heathway Centre, Fairland Walk and even Allen Glen High School.

The Panorama Running Club then obtained the phenomenal race sponsorship from Clearwater Mall. The popular Clearwater Mall/Panorama Running Club 5 km Fun Run & 10 km Race has been ongoing for more tha 10 years now.

Entry Options & Deadlines

• In-Centre Collections: Thursday, 20 August & Friday, 21 August 2026

  • 🕒 13:00 – 19:00 | 📍 Entrance 5 (Pick n Pay side of the mall)

• Race Day Collection: Saturday, 22 August 2026

  • 🕒 From 05:30 AM | 📍 Entrance 5

• Limited edition race t-shirts will be available for R200 while stocks last. Get there early to grab yours!
• If you have purchased a race t-shirt, we would love to see you wearing it on race day.

A few tips before race day:

• Please arrive early on race day to ensure you get to the start line on time.
• Entrance 5 is located on the Pick n Pay side of the mall (West).
• Rather get your collection done on Thursday or Friday. Don’t leave it until Saturday morning!

Traffic & Access on Race Day

1. Finish Area Relocation
The race finish area has moved to Entrance 5 (Car Wash). 

2. Entrance 6 (Walmart)
The booms at Entrance 6 will operate as an exit only during the race. Traffic marshals will be stationed at the circle off Christiaan de Wet to redirect incoming vehicles to Entrance 4.

3. Entrance 4
Entrance 4 access, exit, and parking will operate as normal.

4. Entrance 2
Entrance 2 will operate as an entrance only during the race period.
Millennium Boulevard will be closed to cars until 12:00, along with all exits leading onto it, with the exception of the Entrance 6 (Walmart) exit.
